What Is A.A.?
“Alcoholics Anonymous is an international fellowship of men and women who have had a drinking problem. It is nonprofessional, self-supporting, multiracial, apolitical, and available almost everywhere. There are no age or education requirements. Membership is open to anyone who wants to do something about his or her drinking problem.” — from aa.org
World Services
This is the AA World Services website. The office in NY is where AA groups order AA literature, such as the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous (the Big Book), and the 12 Steps and Twelve traditions (the 12 x 12).
Alcoholics Anonymous is based on the Twelve Steps. How the program works is explained in both the Big Book and in the 12 x 12.
